Is it worth it to prebuy the Photopass CD at $99.95 or just wait to see if there are pics I want and pay full price after?

Buying single prints from Disney's PhotoPass service get very costly very quickly. Prices can change, but most single prints purchased from Disney are well in excess of $10.00 each. If you do the math, you can easily see that it pays out to buy the CD if there are more than about 10 PhotoPass pictures that you like. Additionally, with the CD, you are buying the personal rights use for the photos, so you can go ahead and make as many prints as you want, turn the photos into holiday cards, or post your vacation shots on your Facebook page.

When I buy the PhotoPass CD, I simply make sure that I'm going to have more than 10 great photos. I do this by putting my family in front of the PhotoPass photographers as much as possible. This is easy to do. The photographers are stationed at the park entrances, at many of the character greeting spots, and at other locations throughout the theme parks and water parks. On a week-long vacation at WDW, I typically end up with 70-90 PhotoPass pictures of my family. If even 10 of them are good, then the CD purchase has been worth it. I am a big photography buff and often take nearly 1,000 personal photos on a Disney trip. But I still love the PhotoPass pictures because my entire family can be in the shot.

Of course you are always welcome to decide about purchasing the CD after you return home from your trip. The cost will be slightly higher (approximately $125 for a regular purchase vs. approximately $100 for a pre-purchase), but it still makes more sense than buying individual prints if you have more than a dozen PhotoPass photos you want to keep.
