Is it worth paying almost $1,000 more at the Polynesian to have a Theme Parked view? Is the Garden View sufficient? We won't be in our room much anyways?

"It is worth it" is a very subjective question - the answer will vary greatly depending on what your priorities are. For some people, looking out their hotel room window and seeing the Castle is the realization of a dream come true. If you are one of the those people, then having a theme park view might be worth it.

However, for me personally, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. Think of all the incredible and splurgeworthy things you could do with $1,000 at Walt Disney World:

    - See the Cirque du Soliel show at Downtown Disney
    - Dine at the sumptuous Chef's Table at Victoria & Albert (see my review at DisneyFoodBlog.com)
    - Go parasailing AND waterskiing from the docks at the Contemporary
    - Treat yourself to a day at the spa. Great services are available at the Grand Floridian, Saratoga Springs, and Dolphin resorts
    - Get a VIP tour guide for a day
    - Take the new Wild Africa Trek tour at the Animal Kingdom. You walk over the crocodile pit!
    - Learn to ride a Segway at Epcot.
    - Extend your stay by a few days.
    - Buy a diamond encrusted Mickey watch at the World of Disney.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Depending on the size of your party, you might be able to have several of these once-in-a-lifetime experiences with your $1,000. For me, any of these things would be a better use of money than the view, but again, your priorities might be different.
