Is it worth it to book lunch reservations or to just have the flexibility? background: we will have a party of 9 (5 adults, 12 yr old, 8 yr old, 1 yr old)

    Hi Gage,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel for assistance with your upcoming vacation!

My family tends to not book Advance Dining Reservations for lunch. We generally will enjoy one or two Character Dining breakfasts. It's a great way to start the day. Additionally, we will reserve a table service dinner for most evenings. We find that by dinnertime, everyone is ready for a break and a delicious meal. However, we have found that being flexible in the middle of the day works best for us. Your children might have discovered an attraction that they are really enjoying, and it would be tough to pull them away to head to lunch. Alternatively, your baby might need a nap and your older kids may be looking for a mid-day pool break, so you might want to just head back to your resort for a bit. In my opinion, unless you are planning on dining at character meals for lunch, you are best to keep your schedule open and free to enjoy the spontaneous moments as they happen. I mention character meals specifically because you will definitely need Advance Dining Reservations for those.

    Wishing you magical memories,
