How does it work with the rides and fast pass for a family of 4 with a 3yr old and a 1 yr old? Would we all get in line and and could we switch off once we are in front of the line? Say my wife first rides with my 3yr old and then I ride with him?

    Hi Jorge!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Is your family getting so excited for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort Vacation?

Officially, only those experiencing an attraction may enter the queue, as most of the time the loading and unloading zones are in completely different areas. Parent A and Child 1 will enjoy the attraction while Parent B and Child 2 wait outside of the queue. There's plenty to do with Child 2 as there are usually shops or snacks nearby, and you can always bring distraction items like book or bubbles with you.

For Child 1 to be able to re-enjoy the same attraction with Parent 2, Child 1 would need another FastPass+ selection for the same attraction but actually won't be able to get one because you're only allowed to pre-schedule each attraction once per park day. I do, however, have another solution, which is Disney's Rider Switch Service. Here Parent A and Child 1 would use their FastPass+ selections together, and ask the Cast Member at the entrance of the queue for a Rider Switch pass, noting that Parent B and Child 2 are waiting around the corner. The Rider Switch pass will then allow Parent B and Child 1 to experience the same attraction together without needing to schedule a FastPass+ reservation.

Note that if you plan to schedule all of your FastPass+ selections this way, Parent A and Child 1 will run out of FastPass+ selections before Parent B. In that case, I would use Parent B's FastPasses for the biggest attractions where your children don't measure up. Parent B would use the FastPass+ and ask for a Rider Switch pass while Parent A stayed behind with both children, then you'd both switch places. This way both adults get to experience a bit of everything.

We'll See You Real Soon, Jorge!
