We won't be doing any parks on our check-in day but would like a fun dinner for the kids (ages 13,9 & 4.) Trying to decide between Whispering Canyon or Chef Mickey's or we are open to other suggestions!

Hi, Allyson! Whispering Canyon and Chef Mickey's are both awesome choices. Judging by those locations (Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary,) I'm guessing that you're staying somewhere near the Magic Kingdom.

Here's another option for you to consider: start your vacation off with a rootin', tootin', hollerin' good time at the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review at Fort Wilderness. A lot of us on the panel are fan boys (and fan girls.) There are three performances nightly so you're sure to find a time that works for you.

You won't find a better dining experience on property. Consider its rap sheet:

    Baked beans and cornbread? Check.
    Bucket o' fried chicken? Yup.
Sweet, smoky, slathered ribs? Uh huh.
Catchy songs, inspiring dance and moving performance? You betcha.
Sangria and beer for ma and pa? Boy howdy!

It's like its own theme park. It's THAT gosh darn good.
