Hi just wondering if my 10 year old needs me to go on all the rides with him or as long as I am with him in line can he go alone.

    Hello there, Marcella!

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Oh boy! I bet your son is thrilled to be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth soon. I loved thrill rides growing up and my parents were the exact opposite. The great news is Walt Disney World Resort caters to everyone! Get ready for some serious fun, because you both are going to have a magical time together!

The Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules state, “Guests under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to enter a theme park or water park. To board an attraction, children under 7 must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older.” Since your son is 10, he should be able to board the rides by himself without any problems. If you want, you are more than welcome to wait with him in the queue and then go to the exit once he boards. Just let the Cast Members greeting at the queue know and they will be more than happy to allow your party through.

There are plenty of attractions you can all enjoy together. At Magic Kingdom Park, my parents love taking my kiddos on Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan’s Flight. What we use as a rule of thumb in our family is: if the ride didn’t have height requirements, it was most likely kid-friendly. And if it was kid-friendly, then my parents wouldn’t feel it was too much of a thrill ride for them! Here is a list of rides with height requirements. You could try to see if any of the rides that say “Any height” next to them appeal to you.

Marcella, don’t forget to make your FastPass+ selections ahead of time on your My Disney Experience account. That way, you’re not waiting too long for rides and spend more time enjoying your trip!

I hope you and your son have the most amazing adventures, Marcella!
