Hi, Just wondering what the weather is like during the month of January. Would it be warm enough to be able to go swimming and use the waterpark?

    Andrea,

That is a great weather question! As you can imagine the weather in January can be a bit hit-or-miss. I have been there when it clearly was too cold to swim. I have been there when it was warmer than average, and swimming was fine.

The typical high temperatures in January, which indicate what you might get for an afternoon swim time, are around 72 degrees. That is a bit below comfortable for me, but know that the Disney resort swimming pools are heated. I am not talking hot tub temperatures, but enough to make the difference on a borderline day.

BOTTOM LINE: If it were me I would plan on swimming in my resort pool for several afternoons, but I don't think I would dedicate a day to a water park. If you plan for such a thing, and you end up having weather that is too cold, you have a day where you may not have theme park tickets to change up your plans.

I hope that this helps? Write me back if you have any follow-up questions.

    Have a magical vacation!
