Wondering how traveling in park and buses would be like with a large power chair and a large mobility scooter?

    Hello, Friend,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Walt Disney World does an incredible job assisting guests with mobility disabilities.  I know from my experiences of bringing my mother who used a wheelchair that cast members were always helpful and respectful when assisting her. We did take the time to look over attractions beforehand to know which ones she'd be able to enjoy while remaining in her wheelchair and made our plans around that list (the link above provides you with that information).  She also didn't have any difficulty on Disney transportation, but please know that it did take longer to go places since cast members needed to make sure she was safely secured on the buses.

When visiting with an ECV and/or a power chair, I think you will find similar experiences. However, the one challenge we had was navigating through crowds, so we always took our time and tried to avoid them when possible.  For example. after the fireworks, we didn't rush out so then the crowd would be much lighter and not as stressful for my mom.  We also did more shopping early in the day since there weren't as many guests in the stores, and it was easier to for her to move about the store. Also, outside of each attraction's queue there should be a cast member who will let you know if you need to be ambulatory or must transfer from your ECV or just have questions about the attraction.

Wishing you a delightfully Disney day!  Please let us know if we can help with any further questions. -Kara
