I was wondering if staying at an off site hotel will affect our stay in anyway. I know staying at a Resort Hotel has more benefits, but we want to spend more money in the parks. Also, I know for Military they do discounts but what about EMTs/Firefighters?

    Hi Shannon,

I have stayed onsite and off site. While I did enjoy the little bit of savings on the daily hotel rate, I might have given it back in time, car rental, gas and parking.

If you look to stay at a Value Resort, you get the convenience of Magical Express and free transportation to and from all of the parks at the Walt Disney World Resorts. In my example above, I saved about $20 a night off site but I probably broke even with the extra items I mentioned above. (I could not get into a Disney resort as it was a last minute trip during the Easter break.)

In addition to transportation, you could take advantage of specials such as free dining which has been offered as well as Extra Magic Hours which allow you early entrance or after hour time in the parks.

I would do a recalculation on a value resort vs your off property.

As for EMT/Firefighters, I do not specifically remember seeing a discount for them. I would reach out to Disney directly at 407-939-6244.

I hope you have a magical vacation!
