Hello! We were wondering when registration/info for the race in Jan 2019 will open? I know the 2018 race just passed but we wanted to start planning now! Thank you!

Hi Tristin! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Even though the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is almost a year away, it is very smart to start planning now! Just like you need to be running and training in preparation for the races, you need to be researching and planning ahead to secure all of the pieces of your Walt Disney World Resort "racecation!"

According to runDisney, the dates for the 2019 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend are January 9-13, 2019. Registration for the events of that weekend will open April 17, 2018. It's hard to say exactly how quickly each event will sell out, so I suggest signing up as close to the date that registration opens as possible to secure your spot.

It's never too early to start planning your trip! I recommend staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel during race weekend. You will love the perk of complimentary bus transportation to each event, including the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo. The races start early in the morning, and it's nice to be able to sit back and let Disney do the driving!

Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tristin, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions! Happy training!
