we were wondering at what point is it more benifical to purchase a yearly pass instead of buying 7 day pass to get into the parks. Thank you for your time

    Hey there, Deborah!

There are more factors that go into determining when it makes sense to purchase a Walt Disney World annual pass than just the cost of the ticket. Going by that alone, if you plan on visiting a Walt Disney World theme park for more than 12 days, it might be a better option for you to look at the annual pass.

For my family, though, there is always a bigger conversation. Will we be staying off of Disney property, in which case the annual pass will give us free parking at the parks. We also use the merchandise discount benefit quite often, which can give you up to 20% off in some stores (these benefits vary). There are often special offers on rooms for annual passholders, and while I always tell someone not to purchase an annual pass counting on room discounts, when they are available, it's a great thing.

The one thing that has always sold us on the annual pass is the option for annual passholders to purchase the Tables in Wonderland card. The card gives you a 20% discount on food and beverages at over 100 Walt Disney World restaurants (most of them table service), and because our annual pass allows us to visit more often, we like to do a few table service restaurant meals each time we vacation. This saves us a ton of money.

The best thing to do is compare the prices with how you like to travel. If the discounts may end up being significant, your break even point may be even sooner.

Thank you, Deborah, for your question!
