Hi Moms! I was wondering how long I should allow for table service dining before booking a fast pass time? Will character dining take longer? We will be there in June and will be our first time booking fast passes!

    Kim:

Without knowing exactly which restaurants you're considering, a good rule of thumb for most Disney table service restaurants is a window of 1.5 hours from arrival to taking care of the check. I've had to wait up to 30 minutes before at a restaurant to be seated but that's rare. And certainly if I were under a time crunch, letting the wait staff know my time table always helps get the check to the table promptly.

Character Dining is usually shorter if you are dining at a buffet restaurant like Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine or Chef Mickey's but you're at the mercy of the characters rotation through the restaurant. Usually, I've found them to make the rounds of the restaurant and back to me for a second visit within an hour or so.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
