    Maria Asked

Hello i was wondering if kids with Down syndrome are considered handicapped? My son can't wait long periods in line, can i get a GAC card? tks!!

    Hello, Maria!

One of the great things I love about Disney is that they really try to accommodate guests and their families that are in need of some special assistance.  They really want you to enjoy your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

You are more than welcome to make your way to Guest Services as you enter into any of the Walt Disney World Parks.  You will be able to speak to a Cast Member in order to describe your child's specific challenges.   A stamp will be added to your child's Guest Assistance Card (GAC) which will alert attraction Cast Members as to the type of assistance and accommodations your child will need.  Do not worry about providing any type of doctor's note.  This is a very popular question for our guests concerning proof of diagnosis.  Again, you do not need to provide any letter.  You will only need to go through this process once as they will date your GAC for the duration of your trip.
