I was wondering what the difference is between Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter? We will be celebrating our daughters 4th birthday while in Disney and she is truly into Princesses! Also what's your thoughts on Art of Animation?m i

    Hello Shelly!

Port Orleans French Quarter is themed to look like the historic French Quarter of New Orleans.  Wrought-iron and grown up landscape make this resort feel so authentic and is beautiful.  Port Orleans French Quarter is a small and quaint resort with only 7 buildings of guestrooms.  I love the fact that it is smaller, there is much less walking here than at other resorts.  This is really nice when you have small children.  The Doubloon Lagoon pool is a lot of fun with a water slide made to look like you are sliding down a dragon's tongue.  The Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory is the resort food court and offers a variety of unique dishes.

At Disney's Port Orleans Riverside, the resort is divided into parishes and is much larger.  Closer to the Riverside Mill  Food Court the guest rooms are themed to look like they are in mansions and as you get further away, the buildings start to look more rustic like you are venturing out on the Bayou.  There is a special group of rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside called the "Royal Guest Rooms". These rooms are designed to give the feel of royalty for people staying in them.  Special bedding and drapes, fiber-optic special effects and artwork of Princess Tiana will make any girl feel like a princess.

I am a big fan of Disney's Art of Animation as well.  It is the newest Disney Resort, and you can tell.  The Big Blue Pool does not have a slide, but if you dunk your head underwater you can hear Nemo and friends having fun. The Landscape of Flavors food court has four unique cooking stations with a lot of unique options.  Art of Animation is brightly colored, brilliantly themed and both children and adults are loving it.

I am sure you will love whichever resort your choose for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me!
