I was wondering will the DDP allow you to split/share a sit-down table served meal? Some of the plates sound wonderful, but can be a lot of food for one person to eat and I hate wasting food. So I would rather share a plate and have that option.

Howdy Ericka!  This is an excellent question.  Unfortunately, you cannot split or share a meal when using the Disney Dining Plan for table service meals.

We have gone back and forth on whether the Disney Dining Plan is the best option for our family.  One of my favorite things about it is that it helps me with budgeting for my vacations.  By paying for the Dining Plan prior to our vacation, we have fewer expenses during our vacation.

We have some good friends who get the Deluxe Dining Plan each time they visit Walt Disney World.  They love the convenience it offers and also take advantage of many of the meals that require two entitlements.  One of the comments they made is that regardless of whether or not they "paid" for it, if they don't want dessert, they don't get dessert.  It seems like such a minor thing but it helps them save room for snacks, beverages the other yummy treats found at Walt Disney World.  It can also help decrease the amount of gratuity paid at each meal.

I would encourage you to continue to review menus and options.  Make a plan and determine how much you plan to eat each day.  Once you look at your vacation day by day, that might help you to determine if the Disney Dining Plan is the best option for you.

Good luck with your planning!  It's always such fun to look through the menus and select restaurants.  Regardless of whether you choose the Dining Plan, be sure to make you dining reservations as soon as possible.  Dining reservations can be made as far as 180 days in advance and many of the restaurants fill up quickly.

Please let me know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your vacation.  Have a great time planning!!!
