I am wondering about crowd sizes in May? We are planning a trip towards the end of May and was wondering when the best time to go would be as far as crowd sizes.

Hi, Joy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for stopping by with your question. May is overall is really great month to visit Walt Disney World Resort. As the saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers," and those flowers are on full display at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. The favorable weather during this month is the perfect encouragement to spend some time at this festival. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for updates to the festival schedule and I hope to see you there!

So, we have a month where the weather is great and there are some fun activities going on. Let's discuss how this can impact crowds. May is in a bit of a weird spot with school calendars. But don't fret - that's actually great for you! With April being Spring Break month and the end of May to June being when most schools finish for the year, I find the first few weeks of May to be generally less crowded. When we have been at the Resort during the end of the month, I have noticed a day to day increase in the parks. My recommendation to you, if your schedule does allow, is to try to set your trip in the third week of the month.

Joy, crowd patterns are always subject to change, so I have a few tips for you that could help you have a practically perfect Disney day:

    * Get together with your group and make a top five list for each park. Make those experiences a priority. Anything else you accomplish is just added pixie dust!
    * Be sure to make FastPass+ selections for your favorite attractions as soon as you are able.
    * Arriving early to the parks is a great way to work around crowds. I find the first few hours of park opening to be the best time to enjoy many attractions with minimal wait.

I hope this helps you get started with your plans, Joy! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
