Wondering what are the best accommodations for a family of five with children ages 10, 6, and 3. We prefer to stay at moderate resorts (POFQ is our favorite) but have visited many of the deluxe and like them as well. Is it worth it to get connecting rooms?

Hi Gina! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your vacation planning question.   Like you, I have a family of five and we have some favorite options when we stay at Walt Disney World that I would love to share with you.

The most economical way for your family to all stay in one room would be to book at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside. Rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of this resort contain two queen size beds, and a pull-down trundle bed that would be perfect for your six or three year old.  Since you love Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter, you would be able to use recreational amenities at both resorts.
Have you tried the family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort?   Family suites contain a bedroom with one queen size bed; a convertible table bed; a double-sized sleeper sofa; living room; kitchenette; and two full bathrooms.   I love the space these rooms offer, as you know little ones love to spread out and these rooms allow you to do just that. Every detail from the carpet to the light fixtures transport you right into your favorite animated movies.

Some Deluxe hotels offer rooms for up to 5 guests. These include- Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort,  Disney's Boardwalk Inn, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  In these rooms you will find two queen sized beds, along with a daybed perfect for your children.  You won't need connecting rooms at these resorts your family can all stay together.

If you have any additional questions about any of these resorts, or any other aspect of your vacation to Walt Disney World, I would love to continue to help you out.

    Have a Tiggerific Day,
