I was wondering what age you think is a good age for taking children for their first Disney trip is?

    Hi Stacy!
Tough question...as every single child is different and every family situation is different. For example, I used to think that 4 was the perfect age to bring children for the first time. That was until my Mom was diagnosed with cancer and only had about 5-6 months to live. With that news, the family decided on a trip to Walt Disney World, but my daughter was only 2 1/2 years old. We went, obviously, but were pretty much confined to Fantasyland for most of the trip rotating between It's a Small World, Dumbo, Peter Pan's Flight and the Carousel over and over and over again. It ended up being a great trip, but to me, once they reach 4 or 5 they can do just about any attraction at any of the parks if they choose and that can make for a way better experience. I have never understood the idea of bringing newborns or infants on a trip as busy and active as one to Walt Disney World, as they will have no recollection of the trip...BUT, for some families, that is an important life event that they choose to do. More power to them!
Therefore, if you are asking ME what I think the best age is for a first trip, I would say at least 4 years old.
I hope this helps and I wish you a Magical first trip whenever that may be!! :)
