I wonder if you would be able to give me a rough idea of what healthy meals and snacks are available for toddlers. I will be visiting WDW in May with my 16 month old son so just wondering what additional food/snacks to bring to keep his tummy full. Thanks

You've touched on my favorite topic, eating healthy while at Walt Disney World! I am a health and nutrition fanatic, so I've scoured the parks looking for healthy eating options for my kids and I. I was pleasantly surprised that Walt Disney World is actually chock-full of healthy options!

Throughout the parks you will notice baskets of fresh fruit for sale at many of the kiosk and quick service locations. My favorite is the fresh pineapple wedge at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom.

You can also substitute apples or grapes for french fries or dessert at many of the quick service locations. At Pecos Bills at the Magic Kingdom, I always order the kids burger meal with apples instead of fries and grapes instead of dessert. I then load up my plate with fresh veggies from the salad bar. It makes for a healthy, refreshing meal, filled with fruits and veggies.

You will also notice that at all of the WDW resorts, you can find fresh fruit cups, light yogurt, skim milk and fresh cut vegetables. One of my kids favorites was the tray of baby carrots with light ranch dressing to dip.

WDW is very accommodating to all types of special diets, so feel free to ask for specifically what you need. When I was in Disney's Hollywood Studios, I wanted the turkey sandwich without the special pesto sauce that was standard on the sandwich. They called out to the back restaraunt, where the meals are prepared, and specially made me a sandwich devoid of the "special sauce." I was able to have a healthy meal and only had to wait a few minutes. Don't be afraid to ask for exactly what you need.

Keep in mind also that WDW allows you to bring food inside the park, so you can load up your bag with light cheese sticks, freshly cut fruit, trail mix and carrot sticks for healthy snacks for your toddler on the go.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else at all!

    Magically,
    Stacy
