Hi Wilma, I just saw your post about rainy-day activities. I was wondering if you could tell me when "rainy season" generally starts in Orlando? We are planning a trip for MAy 5-16th 2014 but our dates are flexible. Thanks!

    Hi Julie,

June, July and August are the rainiest months here normally, and April tends to be the least rainy. So the dates you are looking at in early to mid-May should be fairly rain-free. I can tell you that the daily afternoon/early evening rains began this year like clockwork on the day after Memorial Day.

The heat and humidity usually start to climb around mid-May as well.

My family was at Walt Disney World on Mother's Day weekend last year and on Memorial Day weekend this year. We didn't have any rain on either of those visits. But I'm not going to tempt fate.My husband and I are heading to Epcot for dinner tonight (it is great to be a short drive away) and I'm making sure my poncho is in my bag! I'm fairly certain I'm going to need it.

I hope that helps you as you make your plans. Please let me know if I can offer any other advice. Enjoy!

We live 90 miles from Walt Disney World and have visited frequently for 20 years. Disney is the place our family can relax together, try new things (especially interesting food) and have conversations, no matter what park we visit or where we stay.
