Mom And Son Giraffe

Hi Wilma, I noticed on one of your answers you ate at Sanaa. When would be the best time to go with our DS (3) to see the most animals and maybe even see them being fed?

    Hi Tanya,

Thanks for your question! We've always seen a good many animals on our visits to Sanaa regardless of the time we arrive, including giraffes, zebras and cranes. On our most recent visit, we arrived about an hour before sunset, so the animals were easily visible outside during the meal. There was a table with several children about your son's age near us, and their attention was glued to the window.

There's also an observation area outside the restaurant with a firepit, rocking chairs, informational displays and, often, a cast member who can point out animals and answer questions about them. It's fun to visit that area after dark to get a different perspective. However, it is more difficult to see the animals then.

To have the best chance at scoring a window table, I'd likely book an early dinner or even a late lunch. You also can let the hostess know when you check in if you are willing to wait a bit longer to be by a window. (You can see outside from many of the tables, but not all of them.)

To answer the other part of your question: Unless something has changed that I'm not aware of, you won't see the animals being fed. They roam freely as they would in the wild.

I hope that helps. Sanaa really is a great place for the food and the atmosphere, one that I think doesn't get the attention it deserves.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Enjoy!

    Wilma
