my wife will be using electric scooter when we come. where would we park the scooter when getting on a ride

    Hi Richard,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can imagine that you all are getting excited about your upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

On our last visit, my husband used an electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) when we visited Disney's Animal Kingdom and Epcot. We decided to use the ECV Rentals in the theme parks. The process was amazingly simple. And, we appreciated that a cast member would have come to replace the ECV had it malfunctioned in the park.

For most rides, my husband left the ECV near the ride entrance. This is important to remember because the ride exit may be a bit of a walk from the ride entrance. So you all will need to decide which parking location is better for your wife. Often there were other ECVs parked in a certain area, so he would leave his in the same vicinity. On Kilimanjaro Safari's, however, he was able to remain in his ECV and park closer to the ride loading area because they had a separate loading area for guests with mobility disabilities.

There are a number of attractions that allow guests to remain in an ECV. Check the Services for Guests with Disabilities Guide to get more information on specific attractions. There was, however, one ride line queue that proved to be especially difficult for him to navigate - Avatar Flight of Passage. The line queue is long and there are stairs. But, your wife could request to transfer to an available wheelchair at the attraction.

Richard, when you all leave the ECV, be sure to take the key with you. Also, pay attention to the weather. We ignored the storm clouds one day and returned to find that it had poured down rain while we were on the ride. Luckily, we had a small towel to wipe the ECV dry!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
