    Eric from CA Asked

Hi, my wife spent many hours planning to make our trip experience memorable in a few weeks. I want to give her a gift that she can use at WDW and/or great for a die-hard Disney woman - budget: up to $200. Any suggestions? Thank you!

  • Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Eric! What a wonderful thought; a very happy little thought! This is sure to make your wife fly around London town with smiles and laughter. Just make sure she doesn’t float on up to Neverland before your your vacation is over!

If I had a lovely little budget like this to shop for a pixie-dusted prize, I would certainly consider a Disney Dooney & Bourke Purse. My husband gifted me a letter-carrier sized purse featuring all the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks with a colorful zipper, and I get compliments on it all the time. Earlier this year, I purchased a Mary Poppins Dooney tote with my Dad to present to my Mom for her 60th birthday (This practically perfect character is her favorite). She adored it and dumped her purse out on the table, filling Mary up straight away. I know you will find the perfect themed bag for your wife, too!

You can find these spectacular Dooney & Bourke purses on Main Street, U.S.A in Magic Kingdom, or several other stores like World of Disney. If you want to save yourself some browsing time and shop in secret so your wife won’t know what you’re up to, download the Shop Disney Parks App and search for “Dooney!” This will bring up a myriad of bags in all shapes, sizes, prints and price ranges. You’re sure to find something perfect, and you can even have it shipped right to your home so that you can present it to her the day you embark on your vacation. Please let me know if I can help you with any other vacation needs. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.

    Hi Eric!

With all the wondrous choices between hotels, restaurants and activities, planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is truly a labor of love. It sounds like your wife has done an amazing job planning your upcoming trip. You are so sweet to recognize her efforts with a thoughtful gift.

Does your wife enjoy wearing jewelry? If she does, I bet she would be delighted to have a Pandora charm bracelet starter set. I know dozens of diehard Disney fans, including a few of my Disney Parks Moms Panel friends, who adore their Pandora charms. Collectors often start with a simple bracelet and one charm. Then, each time they visit Walt Disney World Resort, they add a charm that represents a favorite character or memory from the trip. The bracelet comes to symbolize a lifetime of cherished Disney memories. It also makes gift giving very easy for you for future holidays as charms are readily available online at shopDisney.

I love Lindsey's idea of ordering your wife's gift in advance of the trip so you can present it to her as soon as you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. Perhaps you could slip it to the Cast Member at check-in time and ask that they deliver it to your room. Or, maybe a server at a table service restaurant could deliver it with dessert on the night of your arrival. Of course, you may prefer to present it to her as you drive under the welcome gate on Disney property. The choice is yours.

Thanks for letting us help you plan your wonderful surprise.

Sending best wishes and pixie dust,

Hi Eric and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s so nice when our Disney husbands acknowledge the efforts of their die-hard Disney wives! There’s lots of thoughtful and meticulous planning that is involved, but it IS so much fun and I’m sure your wife enjoyed it all! (I know I do!)

I’m all about experiences and the way to my heart is through my stomach. If your wife has a sweet tooth, Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs offers a cake decorating experience that gives the fun-loving Disney treats we all know and love, a refined and grown-up twist.

It’s a 90-minute cake decorating class where your wife (and a friend) will have the chance to learn to decorate one of Amorette’s signature Mickey Character cakes with the instruction of a Disney pastry chef!

There are two different Mickey Character Cake designs to choose from and best of all, mom can enjoy a delicious mimosa and/or Bellini as she puts her artistic side to work.

It’s a small class, offering space for only 14 guests, so you will want to call ahead to make her reservation. The experience falls nicely into your budget at $149 plus tax. If she’s feeling generous, she may even share her cake with you! It’s hers to keep along with some other goodies she will be sent home with.

Eric, I hope you and your Disney loving wife have a magical vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Hi Eric!

I absolutely adore the ideas that my fellow panelists have provided!  I don't think you could go wrong with a tasty cake, a beautiful piece of jewelry, or an incredible Dooney and Bourke purse!  That being said, if you and your wife would like to bring a little Walt Disney World Resort magic back to your home, make sure to stop by the art store in Uptown Jewelers on Main Street, U.S.A. where you can find an assortment of figurines and paintings that are sure to please any die-hard Disney Fan!

One of my personal favorite pieces is the Thomas Kinkade Pirates of the Caribbean, The Curse of the Black Pearl 14" x 14" Gallery Wrapped Canvas.  This painting has many amazing details from both the ride and the films, and every time I look at it I see something new!  There are even skulls hidden throughout the painting!

If pirates are not your thing, there are plenty of other beautiful options from which you can choose.  When in doubt, you really can't go wrong with having a breathtaking painting of Cinderella Castle on your wall.  Every time your wife walks by the painting, she will feel a little sprinkle of pixie dust and remember her amazing trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!

Hi Eric! Thanks for bringing such a great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I have a new obsession with the gorgeous Disney-themed dresses and skirts that are available at The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane in Disney Springs. And let me tell you, if my husband surprised me with one of these beauties, I would be over-the-moon excited! As a matter-of-fact, I just might need to casually show him this answer as a little hint!

If you would like your bride to pick out the one she prefers, you can head to this shop in Disney Springs' Marketplace Co-Op when you are enjoying her perfectly planned vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. Or you can order online or via the Shop Disney Parks mobile app ahead of time if you would like to surprise her before your visit. Personally, the Orange Bird Dress and the Mad Tea Party Skirt have me drooling over their magical designs! *swoon*

No matter what you pick, I know your wife will be thrilled that you are showing your  appreciation for her planning efforts! Enjoy your wonderful vacation!

    Hi Eric,

You are going to earn some serious Prince Charming points with your wife for wanting to do something so thoughtful and special for her! I assure you that her hours planning your upcoming Disney vacation are a labor of love for her, but it's super sweet of you to want to do something special for her to thank her!

As for me, walking through The Art of Disney store at either Epcot or Disney Springs is a wonderful chance to find that piece of art that really grabs me and helps me enjoy the magic of a Disney vacation even once I return home. My favorite piece is Thomas Kinkade's Main Street U.S.A., as each time I see it in my home I'm flooded with happy memories of special moments with my family at Magic Kingdom Park, but there are, of course, many options to choose from. Maybe you could find a print of her favorite character or something that that captures what makes a Disney vacation so magical to her? She could hang it somewhere special in your home and smile with happy memories each time she sees it.

Or what about beginning a collection of Disney Christmas ornaments for her? You could visit Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at Magic Kingdom Park or Disney's Days of Christmas at Disney Springs to choose some special ornaments to begin decorating a Disney themed Christmas tree! That's also something you could add to each time you return for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, creating a new special tradition.

Whatever you choose to do, Eric, I know that your wife will appreciate your thoughtfulness. Enjoy surprising her, and have a truly magical vacation together!

    Hi Eric,

How wonderfully sweet of you to think of treating your wife to some extra pixie-dust to show her your appreciation for all the time she has spent planning your magical vacation. I think you are in great hands with my fellow panelists’ advice!

I know I would absolutely love being treated to a special experience at Walt Disney World Resort. I absolutely loved the tour I was lucky enough to be part of a few years ago; there are many different types of Special Events and Tours tours to suit all interests and price points. One that’s on my bucket list is the Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour, which dives into the history of the most magical place on earth, and gives Guests a sneak peek behind the scenes. At $99 per person, this is an experience you could share together.

Another special experience you might consider is a special Disney-themed spa experience at Senses Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. A massage or spa pedicure would feel amazing, especially after a few days walking around the theme parks, and the Tropical Coconut Body Treatment sounds absolutely heavenly.

Whatever you decide, your wife is going to feel so special and love that you took the time to find the perfect way to celebrate her. There’s nothing more magical than that!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,

Wow, my fellow panelists have given you some fantastic suggestions and I would personally love to receive any of them! My idea for a gift for your wife combines a fun vacation experience and a beautiful piece of art that will always remind you and your wife of your trip. Crystal Arts on Main Street, U.S.A in Magic Kingdom and Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers in Disney Springs are two beautiful shops that my family always enjoys during our vacation. Both shops have artists who make beautiful pieces of glass art right in front of Guests! I have found that there are glass art pieces at a variety of price points and they will ship your purchases to your home so you don't have to worry about traveling with it.

My husband and I love to watch the talented artists creating glass masterpieces and it feels like a completely magical experience when watching them, particularly in Magic Kingdom. A few years ago, I decided to bring home the perfect piece for our family from the shop and every time I see it in our dining room, I think of our wonderful trip together. I would recommend that you add a stop at one of the Crystal Arts locations to your trip itinerary, take some time to enjoy the artists creating some beautiful glass art and then you can surprise her with the gift of being able to select the piece of glass art she would like to bring home as her gift!

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!

Hi, Eric! You are well on your way to winning Disney Husband of the Year just by even thinking to recognize your wife for all of her hard work at putting together a magical vacation for your family. It's such a thoughtful thing to want to do.

Over the years, I have given and received some really wonderful gifts from Disney Floral and Gifts. You can build your own gift, choosing a tote bag she can use as you visit the parks, filled with snacks and souvenirs she can have at home. My favorite gift right now is the Grand Disney Spa Collection basket. While items are subject to change, the basket right now not only includes some indulgent (and delilcious smelling) soaps and lotions, and it includes a Mickey Mouse icon towel and a luxurious robe that she'll be able to wear to the pool while on vacation. It'll also be an awesome reminder of the wonderful vacation you all have together.

Wishing you the most magical time!

    Hello, Eric!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let me just say you are like a real-life Prince Charming! Way to go! Your wife is going to TRULY appreciate how you are going to sweep her off her feet as you choose one of these MAGICAL ideas!

My recommendation would be to surprise your wife by setting sail on the Seven Seas Lagoon to experience Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise! There is nothing more romantic than a boat, delicious desserts, and fireworks to say a very special thank you to your wife for the countless hours she spent making your vacation "practically perfect in every way!" This cruise also includes some special take-away surprises to remember your unforgettable evening!

You can make reservations online or call (407) 939-3463 and speak to a very helpful Cast Member!

We hope all of your dreams come true on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

    Have a MAGICAL day!

Hello Eric, or should I perhaps call you Prince Eric?!

I absolutely love that you're so appreciative of your very Princess and her close attention to detail when planning for your upcoming magical visit to the enchantment of Walt Disney World Resort.  And you know what?  I'm quite sure that her dream vacation wouldn't be quite complete without her very own Prince Charming by her side which is why I'm going to suggest capturing a pixie dusted moment in time by engaging the talents of Disney Fine Art Photography.  With the expertise of talented Disney Photographer you're sure to encapsulate that perfect unforgettable moment which can be kept and cherished by you both forever.

I'm super happy to share that magical Mini Portrait Sessions either at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or (my personal favourite) in front of the iconic Cinderella Castle both come within your budget and would be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious for any die-hard Disney fan!

Have a great Disney day & keep dreaming big! ~ Jane

Howdy Eric!  Can you call my husband and give him some tips on how to win points with his Disney-loving wife?  I think you are sweeter than the hunny in Pooh Bear's tummy for such a thoughtful gesture.  I have a great idea for you and one I am sure she will love and get plenty of use from on both your upcoming trip and in the future.

If your wife is anything like me, she packs weeks ahead of time for a Disney vacation.  I just can't sit still and bounce around my house like Tigger with anticipation.  My suggestion to you is gifting her with Disney themed luggage.  The Shop Disney Parks website and App for your smart phone both offer many adorable selections to choose from.  My personal favorite is the Mickey Face Spinner collection.   It stands up to the elements and you definitely can pick it out in a crowd of luggage.   I know she would love it and it surely will make any of her Disney-loving friends jealous.

I wish you the most magical vacation possible.  If we can be of any further assistance to you as you plan your unforgettable adventure, please stop by again.

    Dream as Dreamers Do,

Hi Eric! Thank you so much for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your question is so heartwarming! I'm confident your wife loves planning every moment of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and I'm even more confident she will be overjoyed by your gift.

My fellow panelists have provided you with so many wonderful ideas! I have one more suggestion you can use in combination with the other pixie-dusted suggestions.

One of my favorite gifts to give prior to or during a vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort is a customized Disney Gift Card! You begin by selecting the gift card and then the magic really begins! After you indicate the value of the card, you have the option of purchasing a Personalized Card Carrier you can customize with a special message she will treasure for years to come! She can then use her gift card to buy a wonderful gift, enjoy tasty treats or delight in a tour or spa treatment gifted to her from her Prince Charming!

I know your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be amazing and I love the pixie-dust you are adding for your Disney loving wife. Enjoy every magical moment!

    Hi Eric,

What an incredibly sweet gesture! Your princess is sure to feel like she is living a fairy tale when she sees your surprise. My fellow panelists have given you so many wonderful ideas.

Disney's Enchanting Extras Collection is especially for guests who are looking to sprinkle an extra dose of pixie dust on their vacation. There are so many incredible options depending on what your wife enjoys. In addition to VIP and Unique Access Tours, there are romantic carriage rides, Wine Tasting Tours, numerous Nature Experiences, and one of my favorite options, the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace. Since your wife has spent a great deal of time planning out the perfect itinerary, you may want to take a sneak peek at her plans before booking this. If there is a day which she has designated specifically for the Magic Kingdom, you'll want to call (407) WDW-DINE to book this party. I prefer the Plaza Garden Viewing as it offers a phenomenal view of Cinderella Castle. You could surprise her with this party, which would include sweet treats and exclusive seats, for what is arguably the best fireworks show at Walt Disney World Resort. Happily Ever After is mesmerizing and the chance to have an uncrowded vantage point would make any die-hard Disney fan feel extra special.

I hope you and your wife have an incredible time together as you make memories which will last a lifetime.

    Wishing you magical memories,

    Hi there, Eric!

I absolutely love the many great suggestions my fellow panelists have provided you.  There are some fantastic ideas to be sure!

One other idea I have is a $200 shopping spree at Disney Springs!  I mean, what lady doesn't love to shop?  At Disney Springs, your Disney loving wife will find so many options to satiate her desire for the perfect Disney themed (or non-Disney themed gift).  Alex and Ani is a great shop for chic casual jewelry and there is a great selection of Disney bracelets to commemorate your upcoming vacation.  Many of the bracelets can only be purchased on Walt Disney World property.  The Marketplace Co-Op is another fantastic destination for shopping.  Inside, your sweetheart will find a selection of boutique sized shops with quite a variety of unique items.  During her adventure, she might also like to indulge in a treat from Ghiradelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop.  The Sea Salt Caramel Quake Shake is a popular one!

Kudos to your wife for planning what's sure to be a magical trip, and congrats to you for wanting to pamper her.  Have a wonderful time!

    Hi Eric!

First of all, you're a keeper and a real prince. Second of all, you have already shown what I, as the Disney planner in our family, really wants, and that's appreciation. So you get a Wilderness Explorer badge for that one. Don't get me wrong, I love shiny and gifts, but if your wife always does the planning and spends time researching, she just wants everyone to have a magical time.

Does your wife have a favorite Disney character? My husband knows that he can buy me anything Captain America, and I'm a happy princess. I adore Alex and Ani bangle bracelets, and the Disney ones are my favorites! They have a fabulous selection of Disney characters, sayings, and even ones to represent the theme parks.

If your wife has a sweet tooth like Pooh Bear, I also recommend ordering a custom designed cake to be delivered to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room or restaurant. You can talk with a cast member who will help you design the perfect dessert! I have ordered a birthday cake for my husband with his favorite Disney character, chocolate glass slippers for friends who completed their first runDisney marathons, and even have been the recipient of custom cakes which have made me cry. Cake is my love language, and the sky's the limit with Disney custom cakes.

Wishing you a magical vacation and the most practically perfect gift for your wife!

    Hi Eric,

First off, a big kudos and nicely done to you for expressing how grateful you are for your wife's vacation planning talents.

Artfully arranging a most memorable and magical Disney experience is a task of ample love and plentiful pixie dust. Where to stay? Where to dine? Which attractions to take in and when? Which characters to greet? What to pack?

There's so much to see and do and enjoy at Disney that it takes the super powers of Elastigirl to wrap arms around all the fun and bring it together. I'll venture to say that your wife accomplished it all in a practically perfect way and made it looks as effortless and airy as Mary Poppins floating on a breeze.

When it comes to how best to say thank you to your wife for all her magic wand waving, you can't go wrong with any of the suggestions from my fellow Moms Panelists. My wife loves getting compliments on her Dooney & Bourke Disney cross-body bag, always enjoys a spa experience, especially after her runDisney races, and enjoys Disney's fine dining.

Of course, nothing says "You're magical to me!" more than something Mickey and something sparkly. A few years ago on one of our Disney vacations, I presented my wife with a Mickey icon bracelet from the Disney Designer Jewelry Collection, and it remains a cherished piece in her Disney collection.

I'm sure your wife will love the thank you gift you select.

    Enjoy your Disney!

    Greetings, Eric!

Goodness gracious, my fellow panelists have offered some incredible ideas to pamper your Disney Princess. I know my die-hard, Disney-loving heart would flutter with any of these practically perfect presents.

Like my panelist friends, I had to put some real consideration into this question. What suggestion could I make that would not only show your wife your appreciation for planning the perfect Walt Disney World Resort vacation, but also show her just how much she means to your 'ohana? I thought about the countless hours I've spent planning my own family's dream vacations. All those early mornings spent on the phone to get coveted Advance Dining Reservations, logging into My Disney Experience bright and early to make our FastPass+ selections--they were all tasks to not only ensure our vacation was fun, but that it was memorable. I love planning our vacations because I love all those cherished memories. Out of all my most prized Disney mementos, it's the photos that capture those moments I hold dearest. While I think it would be wonderful to surprise her with any of the amazing gifts my fellow panelists have recommended during your trip, my suggestion is to also create a keepsake after your vacation, filled with the beautiful moments she's so thoughtfully planned.

Now it's your turn to plan a little, as I recommend taking a look at the Disney PhotoPass Photographer locations throughout the resort in order to decide where you may want to take a few unforgettable pictures. You can also look through the many keepsake products offered from Disney PhotoPass.

Have an incredible vacation, Eric, and please let us know if there is anything else we are able to assist you with.

    Magical Wishes, Lauren
