My wife is recovering from a broken hip and will be using an ecv. Are wheelchairs available at attractions if she needs to transfer? She can walk with a cane but not far or up and down steps. What about the moving walkways?

    Hello again, Valerie!

I am so sorry to hear that your wife suffered a broken hip. A magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort is sure to help brighten her day and aid in her recovery!

Walt Disney World Resort offers Guests with Mobility Disabilities an attraction access resource to assist in their planning. There are attractions, such as Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, that require Guests to use an available wheelchair because the queues are too narrow to accommodate ECVs. Cast Members at those attractions can assist in getting your wife one of the provided wheelchairs for use at that location. A few of the attractions with moving walkways require Guests to be ambulatory since some walkways cannot be stopped. Peter Pan's Flight and Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover are two Magic Kingdom attractions where walkways leading to attraction vehicles do not slow down or stop. My son struggles to walk on moving walkways, so if the attraction permits, we request walkways be altered and avoid those where that is not possible.
