My wife and I are planning our first trip to WDW in November 2013. We are trying to decide between Caribbean Beach Hotel Resort and Old Key West. Does Old Key West have pool areas that are good for kids? What are the plus/minus of OKW vs CBR?

Hi, David!  The big difference between the two resorts is the size.  Old Key West is a bit more intimate feeling, although the rooms more closely resemble deluxe resort rooms.  You'll have a bit more space in your room, and there are four pool areas and a playground,  The main pool area has a kids pool and an adjacent sandy playground.

Caribbean Beach Resort is a bit more spread out than Old Key West, but for younger children, the pool area is one of my favorites.  There is a pirate ship splash area that is super cool, in addition to other pool areas.

Both have a full service restaurant, and each has a food court type area for a quick bite.

I think the plus to Old Key West is the size being a bit smaller, it's easier to get around, and the bus seems a little easier to catch without it being full.  On the flip side of that coin, Caribbean Beach sometimes has a longer wait for a bus because of the size of the resort, and it can be a bit more difficult to get around.  Old Key West has a slight advantage when it comes to room size as well.

I hope this helps you with your decision!
