My wife lost her Mum & Dad recently, they've always been huge Disney fans. We would really like to remember them and realise the Leave a Legacy program has finished, are there any other ways we could remember them at the happiest place on earth?

    Bernard,

I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is incredibly difficult and my thoughts are with you and your wife during this terrible time. I also recently lost my mom, dad and grandmother and I can relate to your desire to honor your loved ones at the most magical place on earth.

I find that one of the best ways to honor the memory of a loved one is through giving back in a way that would be meaningful to them. Give the Kids the World  is a non-profit organization located in Florida, that offers a weeklong, cost free vacation to families with children with life-threatening illnesses. You can visit their how to help page for more information about how to make a difference with this organization.

You could also give back by doing random acts of kindness throughout Walt Disney World in honor of your loved ones. You could buy a balloon and instead of releasing it, give it to a young child. You could pay for the snack for the person behind you in line or even offer your place in line to another family.

Another way to honor a loved one at Disney World is to bring a picture of them or a memento they loved and then take a picture with a character while holding their picture or memento.

Again, my thoughts are with you and I know that none of these suggestions will take away the pain of losing someone who you love.  But maybe, through spreading happiness at the most magical place on earth, it will put a smile on your face thinking of how their love transcended through time.

    Magically,
    Stacy
