My wife and I are expecting our first child this May. My wife knows how big of a Disney fan I am and wants to take our baby girl to WDW this Christmas. What would be the best number of days to have a 7 month old at WDW? Any advice for taking a baby girl

Hi J! This will certainly be one of the best Christmas holidays ever for you celebrating it with a new baby daughter and doing it at Walt Disney World.

I have taken my own children at an early age and also my grandchildren. In fact our newest little granddaughter born just two weeks ago will be visiting the parks at Thanksgiving. Deciding how many days you will spend is really up to you. I strongly suggest you book a room on property making it easy to come and go from the parks to your resort for naps and quiet time. When you book off property the transportation becomes more complicated and less reliable. Ask yourself a few questions......do you want to visit all four parks? Do you want to enjoy your resort pool and area? What kind of memories would you like to make with your daughter? All these questions will help determine how much time you want to spend at Walt Disney World this winter.

At seven months of age the children will enjoy the music and colors but stay away from the loud noises and dark places. Introduce her to characters but don't push her into being close if she is not willing. Spend more time walking the parks and seeing the magical sites versus doing all the favorite attractions of your past. It is a new beginning and one you will never regret as watching Disney for the first time through children's eyes is truly one of the most beautiful things.

Make sure you don't over-do in the parks. It is best to come and go and return again after good naps and down time at your resort. Send infant care items such as formula or diapers to your resort before you arrive so you won't have to pack it all in your luggage. And don't forget if you find you need something you left at home there are baby care centers in each park.  Check out what they have to offer HERE.

Have a wonderful first visit with your daughter this Christmas!
