Hello, my wife and I have disney annual passes and we go a lot, soon i will be leaveing for a deployment for a year, now when i come back i would love to surprise her in the place she considers home, how would i go about trying to set something up?

Hi there, Cynthia! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Surprising your wife with a trip to Walt Disney World Resort is such a magical way to return home from your deployment! Surprising loved ones is always fun but there’s something particularly enjoyable about watching your loved one’s face when they discover that they will be going to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I surprised my husband with a stay a Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort for one of our wedding anniversaries and, I have to say, it was such a gift to be able to do that for him.

There are a few steps to organizing such an enormous surprise so let’s get started! First, you will either need to re-activate your Disney World Annual Passes or purchase tickets prior to your trip. Purchasing admission before your arrival tends to save a bit of money and also allows you to access the parks sooner whenever you arrive. Next, you will need to pick where you will be staying during your vacation. I would highly recommend Disney Resort hotels such as Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort due to their romantic ambience. Though, you really can’t go wrong with any of the Disney Resort hotels! Be sure to schedule Disney’s Magical Express for your transport to your Disney Resort hotel as well!

The last step is probably my most favorite! Now, you get to decide how you would like to surprise your wife with your trip. Do you want to plan a decoy trip? Or would you prefer to surprise her with magical present and note stating that you’ll be going to Walt Disney World Resort? Feel free to be as creative as you’d like with this step!

I hope this information helps you get started with planning your surprise trip!
