My wife and I have decided to take our niece, her mom, and sister to Disneyland next spring. Her dad has never been in picture to do anything for her . What is a good number of days for a visit, and is it better to do a one park per day pass or hopper?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Carl!

How sweet of you to treat your niece and family to a special visit the Happiest Place on Earth! My family usually prefers to stay as long as possible, when visiting the Disneyland Resort. For us, that typically means about four or five days visiting the parks. But even with that many days, we recognize that there is still not enough time to do everything. There are so many dining and entertainment options to experience. And, of course, that’s not to mention all the great attractions.

For first-time guests to the Disneyland Resort, my recommendation is usually to visit for three days. A typical itinerary would be to spend the first day in Disneyland Park, experiencing the magic and wonder of Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom. Then a second day could be spent in Disney California Adventure Park, feeling the hope and excitement of Walt Disney’s arrival in California and the adventure and storytelling of your favorite Disney and Pixar characters and places. The third day would then be available to experience again your favorites or to go back and try out things that were missed. That’s where Park Hopper tickets come in handy. Because the two theme parks are merely 100 yards apart, it is so convenient to stop by both parks, even multiple times in a day.

However long you choose to stay, I recommend that you make the most of your visit by downloading the Disneyland app. The Disneyland app is such a great tool to help make your Disneyland Resort vacation even more magical. I love being able to look up attraction wait times, locate our favorite Disney characters, place a Mobile Food and Beverage Order, and more. Of course, it is also the portal for extra fun and enjoyment with Disney MaxPass. You may even link your Disney eTickets in the app before your visit, so you will be ready to enter the parks right away! And don’t forget the Disneyland app’s companion: the Play Disney Parks mobile app. It’s an awesome way to add a little extra magic to your visit, with trivia, games, and more to do while you explore the parks.

I hope you have a magical time, Carl!
