My wife will celebrate her birthday, when we will be having our WDW vacation in last week of Sep2012. We will stay at Art of Animation with 2 daughters. I have kept the day kind of free & would like to know what can be planned to surprise her on that d

Hi Amit! What a wonderful surprise for your wife that you will be planning something special for her.

The first thing I would do is to arrange for something special to be delivered to the room that day. She will love walking in to find some flowers or a fruit basket or any other special item.  Go to the Disney florist and start looking through what they are offering. You can call if you don't see something special and they can do something even more personal to fit your budget. www.disneyflorist.com or 407-827-3505.

There are some amazing fireworks cruises you can book for the family. They leave from the Yacht and Beach Club marinas every night or one of the resorts on Bay Lake or Seven Seas Lagoon. You can decide between Epcot's Illuminations or Magic Kingdom's Wishes shows. Call recreation to book one of these. 407-939-7529.

Choose a special dining location and get a reservation for the family. Add a cake to end it with a nice surprise for your wife. And make sure wherever you are that you stop in at a Guest Services location to pick up a Birthday button for her to wear. She will be greeted by cast and guests the entire day!

Other choices without knowing her interests include fishing excursion (yes many women love this), trail rides (if the girls are old enough as you will want to do things together), carriage rides, water park, dinner and a movie at the Downtown Disney area, Cirque du Soleil, parasailing, water skiing, wake boarding, or just renting a boat!  There is lots to do beyond the parks but even spending a nice day in one of the parks will be enjoyable if you add some of the touches mentioned above!
