Whitney, Another Ft Wilderness question for you! How many adults can comfortably stay in a FW Cabin? Is there just one bathroom? Also, if traveling with a group of friends, can we request cabins near each other? I thought this might be a fun weekend!

    Cathy:

Thanks for coming back to the Mom's Panel!

Although the cabin will sleep up to six adults--and my family did it for a reunion, housing my two brother-in-laws with their wives and my mother- and father-in-law all in one cabin--the word "comfortably" doesn't come to mind...

Each cabin at Fort Wilderness comes with a separate bedroom that contains a double bed and a twin bunk bed along with a large bathroom and a living area that includes a kitchen with full-size appliances, a banquette with a small table and accompanying chairs and a full-size Murphy bed. Technically, the cabins sleep six, but keep in mind some folks may not consider double and Murphy beds to be comfortable. Additionally, the vanity is located inside the bathroom, unlike some Deluxe Disney resorts that have separate sink and shower areas. If you are traveling with guys, it's probably not an issue. But if six girls are sharing one bathroom, again, it might not be considered "comfortable." What allows you to feel like you have more space, however, is the ample decking outside of the cabin, providing what many consider an outdoor "room" in which to gather.

As with all resorts you can request that multiple cabins be near each other. Although Disney doesn't guarantee it, this is one resort where I have never experienced being separated from another party I've requested to be near, either at the campsites or cabins. The staff seems to bend over backward to accommodate proximity.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
