We just went to Disney World in October 2010 but would like to look at going on the Disney Cruise. When is the cheapest time to go? With 4 of us we would need a family suite. Been on the Wonder and Magic.. We would like to go on the two new ships.. thanks

    Ahoy, Jessica!

With a Walt Disney World (WDW) vacation still fresh in your mind, there's never a better time to start planning your Disney Cruise Line vacation -- it keeps the pixie dust stirring in your heart and home!

Typically, at WDW, there are identifiable seasons which guests can look to for less expensive rates, and they usually correspond with times of the year when American schools are in session. Yet, the cruise industry is different -- costs of cruises generally follow the rule of supply and demand which can vary from week to week. In an average year, most experts will tell you that early fall and early in a new year (January/February) are less expensive times to take a cruise. Yet, with the introduction of Disney's newest darling, Dream, you're probably not going to find "slumps" in prices. And of course, the same may apply with her newest sister, Fantasy, in 2012.

I always tell prospective cruise guests that your best "deal" is booking one cruise while you're still at sea, and for your first cruise, book as far in advance as possible. Plus, let your travel agent do your leg work for you. Ask him/her to price out various times of the year, possible stateroom categories and different itineraries. You really can save time, effort and money by booking through an expert. I hope this helps you plan!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
