    Trellis from LA Asked

The week of thanksgiving we will be in Orlando for my sons 10 bday and my neice 8 bday. We are visiting animal kingdom and maybe magic kingdom. Is there anything we can do to make their trip extra special , like pay for them to be n a parade, etc?

Hi, Trellis, and thank you for bringing your question to us! While Guests are not able to pay to be featured in a parade or other entertainment, there are still many magical moments to be found. I have a few helpful tips and ideas for you that can make the trip for them supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

You may notice that some families are welcomed to help open a park or will be Honorary Grand Marshals for a parade. My family was actually chosen to help Mickey Mouse and his friends open Magic Kingdom Park one day! There is no secret to being chosen, as they randomly choose families. I suggest that you arrive very early to the park, smile, be friendly with Cast Members, and wear your most festive Disney attire. Since it is their birthday, pick up complimentary celebration buttons available all across the Resort and have the kids sport them proudly! They are sure to receive many birthday greetings!

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, be sure to take a look at the various ways Disney Floral & Gifts can help you bring the magic into your Resort room. Are there any special characters the kids like? There are so many themed room extravaganzas from which to choose!

Trellis, be sure to make a special Advance Dining Reservation for the birthday celebration. My children are of similar age and they would love to celebrate their birthday at Be Our Guest Restaurant or the Fireworks Dessert Party in Magic Kingdom Park. Also, you can hop on My Disney Experience to make FastPass+ selections so they can experience their favorite attractions on their special day.

I am sending lots of pixie dust for your son and niece on their birthday! Please stop by again if you have any other questions for us!
