Our WDW vacay begins in 25 days and the hubs broke his foot. Will we need to stop at the Guest Services in the parks for any special permissions for him to use a rolling knee walker throughout the parks? Can he take the walker on the buses to the parks?

Hello Collette!  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's foot.  No doubt having to get used to using a rolling knee walker has taken some adjustment on your husband's behalf, but the good news is that the Endless Magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation has got you covered.

I have spoken with Guest Services on your behalf and there is no special permission required for the use of a rolling knee walker in any of the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks.  However, the rolling knee walker must have at least 3 wheels.  This is to restrict the use of children's scooters as a means of conveyance but still allows for the 3-wheeled (or more) knee walker your husband needs for mobility.

As well, Disney Transportation accommodates rolling knee walkers provided they can fit into the wheelchair box (30" X 48") on board.  If the rolling knee walker cannot fit these dimensions but can be collapsed or folded in order to fit those dimensions, it will also be accommodated.

I hope this allows you to breathe a little easier knowing that despite a broken foot, your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation has got you magically covered.

As I am sure that your husband would rather not spend any more time on his feet than is necessary, be sure to select Fastpasses for favorite rides and attractions using My Disney Experience to bypass the lines.  Also, be sure to talk to a Cast Member before entering a queue to ask about specific accommodations for each attraction.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
