1ST WDW VACAY! Arriving 6-6-12 around noon. Leaving 6-14 around noon. Boys 10 & 7. Staying at All Star Sports. Getting overwhelmed on planning. Need help with itinerary, EMH, parade schedules Please Help!

    Hello Leanna,

Yay for first vacations to Disney World!

Now repeat after me: Disney is the happiest place on earth. So no need to be overwhelmed. Don't stress! This is why you have all of your friends on the Moms Panel to help you out!

You are planning a trip for over a week, which will give your family plenty off time to see all of the must-do's plus give you and the boys a chance to really choose some personal experiences too. So that's tip number one: involve the kids. Comb through the Disney website with them. See what attractions they want to ride and what restaurants they have to try. There's no reason why you should be planning by yourself. And once you have a feel for what's important to them, it will help you map out your touring plan.

Also, you will be eligible to make your dining reservations starting early December. I suggest if you're looking at some popular spots like Chef Mickey's or The Crystal Palace, you mark your calendar now!

Here's another tip that's something my family does every trip to Florida: we rarely visit a Theme Park the day we arrive or the day we leave. As exciting as it is for your family to be arriving for your visit to see the Mouse, after traveling all morning, you may just want to unwind. So consider hanging out at the pool and getting to know your Resort. Or head to Downtown Disney. Same with the last morning. I just get so sad if I have to say goodbye to Main Street on my last day!

I have not seen Park hours, Extra Magic Hours, and entertainment schedules posted for your vacation yet. So right now, I say take it easy on yourself and enjoy!

Sending Pixie Dust your way! Happy trip planning!

Meet the Panelist: Monina, Ohio

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
