We have a WDW trip soon and I have a question about DDP. My 10 year old is an "adult" on the dining plan but 3 adult and 2 kid meals will be TOO much food for us. At a table service restaurant can we order only 4 meals and keep one TS credit?

It's not uncommon for guests at Walt Disney World restaurants to split meals, whether they are on the dining plan or not.  If you decide that it is more reasonable for two people in your party to split one meal, you are more than welcome to do that.

You do need to keep in mind that, where available, your two younger children will need to order from the kids menu.  Perhaps you and your ten-year-old can split a meal, thereby 'banking' one adult table service credit each time you dine in a sit-down restaurant.  If you are there for enough days, you may even be able to get an extra day's worth of dining credits by doing it that way.
