1st WDW trip this Nov.(DH, DS9, DD5) staying at the Dolphin. Can you please tell me is there a "better" area of the hotel to request our room? Closer to pool or transportation but maybe in a lower traffic area (thinking about noise level for earl

    Hi, Terese!

I love staying at the Swan and Dolphin resorts.  You just cannot beat their location on the Boardwalk.

Staying at the Dolphin is a bit different than staying at a traditional WDW Resort.  To start off, it is not actually a Disney-owned resort, yet it sits in the middle of Disney property.  It is also set up different than most Disney resorts.  All rooms are in one building and there are many types of rooms, so your location is going to depend more on the type of room you booked than what you actually request.

The pool area is huge and is shared with sister resort Swan. It really not closer for any room since all guests will have to take the elevator to the lobby then head to the pool area.  The same is true for the bus stop.  Your resort has just one stop outside the main doors.

Room noise does not seem to be a problem here.  Because it is a high-rise type building, you do not hear the noise from outside, and many guests are there for meetings or conventions, so it just very quiet.  If you are trying to reduce your walk time to your room, the best you can probably do is request a room close to the elevator, but then you might pick-up some noise as this might have a bit more foot traffic.

I have stayed in the Swan (just across the way) several times and have always been very pleased with my room and also the resort without any requests.  If you have concerns, let them know at check-in so they best accommodate you.   Enjoy your stay, and have fun lounging at their great outdoor pool complex!
