1st WDW trip with myself, DH and DS 10yr & 7yr. We have planned as a family but I would like to surprise the entire family with something special. Suggestions? We will be there for the final weekend of Star Wars Weekends. Character dining already plan

    Hi Leanna,

What a great idea. I'm sure your family would love an extra special surprise. Have you had a chance to look at the offerings from the Disney Floral and Gift Department? They have a number of baskets that could be delivered to your room that would delight a family with young boys, including Cars, Pirates, and even Stars Wars themed gifts. That Darth Vader bobble head is the coolest thing EVER.

If you wanted to book a special activity, you might consider something like a fishing expedition, a fireworks cruise or a thrill like parasailing (my own kids LOVED this when they were 7 and 10). You can consult this list of off the beaten path activities that the Moms assembled which may give you some ideas that would appeal to your crew.

Another good resource is on the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Search there for an article called "Trip Planning 101: Celebrating at Walt Disney World." There are tips for helping the entire family celebrate during vacation.

    Have a wonderful visit!
