2nd WDW trip in July.Staying in 1 BR Villa at Wilderness Lodge. What is the kitchen stocked with? Any recommendations on a room w/ good view of the lake? Any tips to share? Planned 1st trip w/ help from this great panel! Thank you,

    Hi Lori,

The Villas at Wilderness Lodge are my "home" resort as DVC Members.  If you've never visited before, you are in for a treat.  I used to go camping with my parents to various National Parks, and the WL is reminiscent of some of the most magnificent western parks.

The kitchen has everything you could possibly want:  a toaster, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and even dish towels!  In addition, dishes, pots, utensils, a strainer, wine glasses, paper towels and a sponge are provided.  (Enough detail for you?)  I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but basically, everything you need except food will be waiting for you!

The lobby of the Wilderness Lodge is immense and spectacular.  There is even a little bridge that covers a flowing stream.  My kids use to love running over the bridge when they were little, as they thought an indoor stream/bridge was totally amazing.  The two restaurants are excellent dining options.  Artist Point has a wonderful selection of wine and entrees.  Whispering Canyons Cafe is a hoot.  The staff is hilarious and lead the kids in a crazy western parade.

Transportation  to the Magic Kingdom is very convenient via boat launch behind the pool area.  There is also a boat that runs directly to the Contemporary, which makes this another great dining choice.  The other monorail resorts (Polynesian and Grand Floridian) are also great choices, as getting to them is a snap.  Finally, the dinner shows at the campground are also simple to get to via the boat, so if you were interested, this trip would be a great one to make a reservation for.

As for which rooms afford good views, if you have a specific request in mind, mention it to the Cast Member who assists you with booking, and call back to the resort directly about a week before you arrive to confirm your request.  While specific requests aren't guarantees, I have found that Disney does it's best accommodate most requests.

    Have a wonderful time!
