I have been to WDW 12 times but never to a water park, I am taking my 2 and 5 year olds next month and I'm wondering which water park would be best for their ages. Thanks!

    Adrienne:

Our family has had annual passes to the Water Parks in the past and find that, if given the choice, we usually opt for Blizzard Beach.  The last time we went, our youngest was three and I felt BB offered several features over Typhoon Lagoon:
    • A more clearly-defined toddler/preschool area.  Set off from the paths of other guests, you and your youngster could hang out here, enjoy the picnic area and ride the slides til their heart's content.  I really liked the fact that I didn't have to beat back foliage to keep my little guy in eyeshot.
    • A pre-teen area.  Once my son was used to the slides at Tike's Peak, we moved "up" to the longer slides at the Ski Patrol Training Camp.  I would imagine your 5-year-old would enjoy this area.
    • A longer family raft ride: Teamboat Springs was more fun than the ride at Typhoon Lagoon, simply because it was longer.  An added bonus was the fact that we could catch the ski lift up rather than hiking a lot of steps with the kids.
Both water parks have a lazy river and sand, (Typhoon Lagoon has LOTS of sand....) but, overall, our favorite is Blizzard Beach.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
