Have been to WDW many times, but never as a parent. We are there 12/12-12/18 and are thrilled to be bringing our 2 year old. Tips? Tricks? Best ideas? Like everyone, we are on a budget... Thanks for your help.

Hi, Kimberly!   Traveling to WDW with your child for the first time is so magical!   It is fun to rediscover everything through their eyes.

Plan to bring a stroller from home.   This will save you a lot of money, plus it is convenient to have your own stroller for parking lots and around your resort.    Bring a backpack or tote bag with lots of goodies:   goldfish crackers, graham crackers, juice boxes, refillable water bottles (or sippy cups!  You can get free cups of ice water from counter service locations to fill your bottles), wet wipes, change of clothes, and a hat or visor.   It sounds like a lot to pack, but you will need all of it!

When you enter a theme park, find where the baby care center is located.  These are wonderful for feedings and diaper changes.  I spent a LOT of time in the centers when my kids were little!

A great money saver with a 2 year old is that a park admission ticket is not required  until age 3!   And, if you are eating at a buffet or family style restaurant, your little one can share your plate for no additional charge.  That is a great value!   At counter service restaurants, many kids meals are around $5 including a drink, so that, too, is a great value.

The biggest thing to remember is to keep on your 2 year old's schedule!!  This means you might not get to the parks when you want, and your mid-day break may come sooner than expected, but you don't want your little mouseketeer in tears because of being tired!   Enjoy the moment!   This may mean enjoying the sunset from your resort room window instead of the beach, but seeing your little one well rested is worth giving up some of the luxuries of traveling before we had kids!

I hope all of you enjoy your Disney vacation!
