We have been to WDW many times before and are heading back in September. We have dinner reservations at Ohana-I know my 4 yo will eat nothing the restaurant is known for, will we be charged the full amount and can we preorder something more kid friendly?

Hello Becky. Thanks for stopping by the disney parks moms panel with your question.

I am so happy to hear that you are going to try dining at 'Ohana on your next Walt Disney World vacation. Isn't it amazing that no matter how many times you take a vacation to Walt Disney World there is always something new to see, do or try? That's one of the many reasons my family and I have chosen to be Annual Passholders. We just can't get enough. Of course you know your 4 year old way better than anyone else, but your child just might surprise you. My daughter is very picky but has always loved dinner at 'Ohana since she could gnaw on a chicken wing or slurp down some of their scrumptious noodles. The bread and appetizers, in my opinion, are very kid friendly. I also always appreciate that the sauces for the meats brought to your table are served on the side. So your child might enjoy some plain chicken, shrimp or steak. However, if your child just isn't having it, I think you'll be happy to know that your server will absolutely bring some kid friendly food to your table. While there isn't a traditional kids menu, the chefs at 'Ohana always have something on hand. The choices we've been offered in the past are grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, hot dog, french fries and items like that. For dessert, even if your child dines on the traditional 'Ohana fare, your child is more than welcome to enjoy his or her own ice cream sundae if bread pudding isn't what they are after. Once you've arrived at your table and have gotten situated, you can speak to your server about what options are available to you that day. No matter if your child eats the food offered or you request something extra, you will be charged the same price for the meal.

If you've arrived early for your reservation, I suggest grabbing a seat on one of the comfy couches and ordering a cocktail from the Tambu Lounge. You can go straight up to the bar or there is a server that will come by to grab your drink order. My favorite is the Lapu Lapu, served up to you in a pineapple. It really can't get anymore Polynesian than that. If you think you might want a refill, even at dinner, save your pineapple. There's a discount on refills sans pineapple. Then all you have to do is open the top and pour it in yourself! They also have mocktails that your child might enjoy. My daughter has always loved their Shirley Temple and you can upgrade to have a fun glow cube in it.

I hope this helps ease your mind about the menu. I am confident that you will find something that your child will eat and everyone will have a great time. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask me.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
