Going to WDW 12-23 thru 12-28/2013, staying off property . I'm thinking MK on Xmas day and breakfast in the castle early. Our little one will be 18 mo ( will HE need a res ? ). haven't done WDW with a toddler in 15 yrs! suggestions ?

    Hi Megan,

What a great and busy time to be at the Walt World Resorts! Christmas day is going to be extremely busy and it often closes to guests early in the morning. Unless you plan on being at the park at opening, you may not get into the resort. Staying off property also reduces this chance as you will need to drive and wait in long lines from the parking lot to get to the resort.

You will also need to make the reservation for your breakfast at exactly the 180 day mark as this is going to be a popular option as well. While Disney will not charge you for your 18 month old, they will need to include him in the count. This is for safety regulations.

As for traveling with a toddler, stick to his schedule. This helps keep him happy, and when a toddler is happy, everyone is happy. You also might consider purchasing just a Magic Your Way ticket without options such as park hopping. This allows you to concentrate on one park a day. Also, make Advance Dining Reservations so you can take a break and refuel.

Finally, this time of the year is extremely busy. While it is magical, you will not be able to get to everything and you need to prioritize. If you accept that you will just absorb magic versus seeing everything, you will be fine.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
