Buffet dining

Will be at WDW for Thanksgiving. Was wondering if anyone knew if Trails End has offered a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in the past? Would like to eat there if so. Thank you for all your help.

    Hi Dana,

Trail's End Restaurant is a hidden gem at Walt Disney World, tucked into the tranquil setting of Fort Wilderness. The fried chicken is a highlight of the buffet along with carved meats every day, including turkey. In the past, turkey and traditional sides have been part of the Thanksgiving array and I would guess that they will be again this year.

My family loves Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World and we have found that the buffets tend to add traditional holiday fare. For example, we've had our holiday meal at Boma and found American Thanksgiving items among the African-inspired dishes. Maybe we should consider Trail's End this year, too. Hmmmm. So many delicious choices!

The easiest way to access Trail's End is by boat from Magic Kingdom, so be sure you allow plenty of travel time. My family's Thanksgiving tradition is to return to Magic Kingdom after dinner and stay until closing time, which usually is at least midnight on the holiday. Late-night Magic Kingdom is especially magical, and the crowds are smaller than during the day.

Because the holiday week is a busy time, I recommend making your dining reservations as soon as possible when the 180-day window opens. I also would be sure to make my FastPass+ choices as early as possible.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Dana. Please let us know if you have other questions about planning your holiday visit. Enjoy!
