We are going to WDW in October and I really want to go to Mickey's not so scary halloween party. My son will be 18 months old when we go. Is this something we can all enjoy or should we skip it this time around and wait until he's a little older?

A few years ago, it might have been worth it to go just to enjoy the shorter wait times for the attractions (especially Fantasyland attractions for your son).  In recent years, though, I've noticed that the party has become far more popular and attraction wait times don't seem to be shorter than any other time of the day.  I still love the party; the parade alone makes it worth going to.  That said, since your son is so young, I would recommend holding off for a couple of years until he is old enough to really enjoy the parade and fireworks.  These days, I think that is the biggest draw for party guests.  I hope that helps!
