Mom And Daughter Resort Room

I will be at WDW at a moderate resort with my wife for 14 nights. When and what do I tip? Also with a meal plan, how do I tip cash or credit and how much? Do I tip counter service?

Daniel, two entire weeks of sailing with pirates, eating Mickey ice cream bars, and zooming down Space Mountain! Yes, I am a bit jealous.

No tipping is necessary or expected at counter service restaurants. At table service establishments you may pay gratuity with your Key to the World Card, credit card, or cash. At the end of your meal, you will receive a receipt stating the out of pocket cost for your meal; typically 18% of this cost is a good tip.

Also tip anyone who handles your luggage and a dollar or two per night for the housekeepers who clean your room would be a nice gesture. The bus, boat, and monorail drivers are not tipped, but if you take Disney's Magical Express from the airport do tip the driver if he helps with your luggage.

Those amazing, always smiling Cast Members in the parks and resorts who provide magical touches and the Disney difference are not to be tipped. These lovely people are doing their job creating an enchanting, special world for you to enjoy.

My friend Erin, a fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelist, wrote a detailed blog for Touring Plans about tipping at Walt Disney World you might want to read. Type FAQ tipping  Touring Plans in your browser.

Wishing you and your wife a supercalifragilistic first visit to Mickey!
