We will be at WDW in mid-January and want to watch MK fireworks from a distance without paying for a table service restaurant or sitting outside since it may be cold at night. Other options?

    Hi Collette,

If you time things properly, you can watch the fireworks above Cinderella Castle from the comfort of the monorail.  This can be pretty tricky, though, and you certainly won't catch the entire show from that vantage point.

Instead, I heartily encourage you to grab a cup of decaf coffee at Capt. Cook's, bundle up and head to the beach behind Disney's Polynesian Resort.  It is my favorite fireworks viewing spot in all of Walt Disney World.  Temperatures my very well be milder than you anticipate.  If not, the Wishes fireworks above Cinderella Castle don't last terribly long.  If you dress appropriately, you'll be just fine.

Wishing you many magical memories during your upcoming trip!  I guarantee that watching fireworks behind Disney's Polynesian Resort will be one of them.
