We're going to WDW in May, staying at AKL. I'm thinking about a possible split stay between two resorts, but my daughter turns 3 halfway through the trip. We have MYW with DDP. Would her age change affect anything if I do a split stay?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am glad to know you will soon be celebrating your daughter’s third birthday. You will definitely discover how The Magic is Endless at Walt Disney World Resort.

My family loves the Disney Dining Plans as it gives us a great way to prepay for our meals and not worry about budgets. A split stay is also a fun way to discover more than one Resort. Recently my family split between Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Contemporary Resort. Which one was better? It was a tie!

I am all for saving Disney Dollars to stretch my vacation as much as possible. A Magic Your Way Vacation Package already includes Theme Park Tickets, therefore a split stay would require two sets of Tickets, and we know that adding days to one is better than the other. Unless there is a Special Offer, one way to get around this, is by booking a Ticketless Package for your second leg, and simply add days to your first leg. You cannot book this online. Instead you need to talk to a Vacation Planning Specialist at (407) 939-1936 or your travel agent. Finally, your daughter's age will be determined based on the Check-In date for both reservations. If she turns three on the second day or later of our second leg, you won't have to worry about tickets or dining for her.

One last tip: remember that one of the great Disney Resort Hotel Guest Benefits is you can book FastPass+ reservations 60 days before your Check-In. See you real soon!
