Hello! I am going to WDW in late May, 2012, with 2 boys,(8&11) hubby, and grandparents (75&81). We would like a resort that has good transportation choices since I want to try to reduce the amount of walking my parents have to do. Any ideas? :)

    Hi Marissa,

There are resorts with convenient transportation options in all three categories of Walt Disney World resorts.  If you wish to stay in a value resort, ask for a preferred room at Disney's Pop Century Resort.  These rooms put you within 500 feet of Century Hall and the bus stops for this resort.

If you prefer a resort in the moderate category, definitely choose Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter.  Of the moderate resorts, this one has the smallest footprint so that means less walking to the bus stop.

Most of the deluxe resorts have wonderfully convenient transportation.  Choose Disney's Polynesian or Disney's Grand Floridian Resorts.  You can request a building near the monorail station, which also places you pretty close to the resorts' bus stops.

If you're looking for the most efficient transportation options between points at Walt Disney World, don't hesitate to post follow-up questions to the Moms Panel.  I love transportation questions.  There's nothing better than helping a guest find a quick, hassle-free way to reach their destination.

Best wishes as you plan your May adventure!

    Jill

PS.  Call your travel agent, or Disney, to add a note to your reservation alerting them to your parents' potential mobility issues.  They will work with you to find a room that minimizes walking for them.
