I am going to WDW with 4 kids (10,8,4,2). Dad will be at a conference during the day so the kids and I are doing the parks solo. Any tips on making this as stress free as possible? We are doing MK, DHS and AK. Older 2 don't like big rides so that helps.

    Hi Lesli,

I love that you are heading to the parks solo with your children while Dad is at a conference. I have a few tips to make your life simpler.

First, make sure you have a backpack filled with snacks and drinks. The backpack keeps your hands free to hold onto your children and the snacks will keep your children fueled as you travel through the parks. Many guests underestimate the amount of walking you do. You will eat and drink more so make sure you are prepared.

Second, use an online grocer like the Garden Grocer to purchase drinks, snacks and breakfast items. This will save you time and money in the morning. You can all be eating and getting ready in the room without running to a food court to grab food.

Third, bring a stroller and make it unique. This makes it easier to hold the two and four year old and helps the 8 and 10 year old find it when it gets congested. It also helps when the cast members move it to another location when it rains. A colorful ribbon on the handle is all you need.

Fourth, have your 8 and 10 year old help plan the trip. Have them set up your My Disney Experience and do the FastPass+ for your family. This gets them involved and most kids like the control of moving through the park.

Fifth, try this order for your itinerary: Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and then Magic Kingdom. Disney's Animal Kingdom is a lot of walking over bumpy terrain. Disney's Hollywood Studios is shows so you can sit and rest. Magic Kingdom is the cherry on top.

Finally, make an Advance Dining Reservation for dinner each night and share the highlights with Dad!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
